Our Story
That's roughly what "Tusco" means, a playful butchering of a Spanish phrase, chosen for how it sums up the way we want people to eat here: relaxed, unhurried, no fuss.
The Building
This address has a proper culinary history. Back in 1989 it was Two Fat Ladies, known for its seafood. Later it became Eighty-Eight, a small-plates favourite built on quality local produce, fine wines and cocktails. In March 2026, under new management and after a refurbishment, the doors reopened as Tusco. Same building, a different restaurant.

the meaning behind the namePeople want flexibility when they eat out now, to try more things, share plates, and build their own experience as they go. That's the whole idea behind Tusco: fresh pasta, Italian-inspired dishes and sharing plates, served without ceremony.
Tusco is part of the Hinba group, which started out roasting coffee in Oban and has since grown to include Hinba Speciality Coffee, The Bakery Hinba, and Ziques, a Spanish restaurant just up the road in Hyndland. Different kitchens, same underlying idea: good ingredients, cooked properly, served without pretence.
